In the quest to celebrate women's advancement and support young women to thrive during their leadership journey, Gate Consulting Group introduced a Women Empowerment Program which kicked-off its first intervention with a women's leadership conference themed “Uniquely created to influence” in March of 2022.
During the event, the young university students had the opportunity to connect with these women leaders in a world café small group setting, but, most importantly, learn soft skills and acquire practical tools they can leverage to own their growth and be ready for the marketplace.
A panel discussion moderated by our CEO, Salma Nkusi, was held where leaders such as the Ambassador of Sweden, Ms. Johanna Teague, the Country Lead of MasterCard Foundation, Rica Rwigamba, Co-founder and the Managing Partner of Right Seat, Denise Umunyana shared their personal stories, challenges, and learnings to encourage the young women to be authentic and resilient on their own journeys. After the small group discussions, the young women put their public speaking skills to use and presented their key learnings from their close interactions with the women leaders.
And at the end of the conference, each participant acquired a leadership book from world-renowned authors to help them continue the learning journey, enable them to see the possibilities ahead and equip them to become influential young leaders.
This concise program is intended to empower and uplift women, allowing them to fulfill their greatest potential.
